WELCOME TO LITTLE BIRD GIPPSLAND!
Home of Jill Harris paintings...
"Laughing Fellow"
Sometimes I hear a cheery Kookaburras laughing at my home in Gippsland – I go outside to watch him – they often like to sit on the old aerial on top of our shed. I love allowing realism and abstraction to coexist in the same painting - with this Kookaburra grounded in the natural world while his colourful dreamy background reaches upwards towards the light that represents something greater to me.
Through its calming colours and atmospheric light, this painting celebrates the beauty of Australian wildlife, and the simple joy of sharing our everyday spaces with these much-loved native birds.
This listing is for the original painting which has been painted by Jill Harris (me). All my paintings are created in my sunroom/art studio where I get lots of natural light, a rural outlook and I can keep an eye on my chickens and sheep out the window at the same time.
SIZE OF ORIGINAL CANVAS PAINTING:
This painting is 54cm x 54cm (size includes frame) and comes with a lovely narrow floating frame.

SUPPORTING AN ARTIST & TINY BUSINESS
Having spent many years developing my skills as a visual artist I still find every new painting I do is a new adventure, not always knowing how it will finish. All my paintings are original works hand-painted in my sunroom/art studio. You are definitely buying direct from an artist, helping support a tiny business, and yes I get excited with every individual sale that happens.

ABOUT YOUR PAINTING
When caring for your canvas, dust can be gently removed with a dusting cloth. It is better NOT to use cleaning liquids on your original canvas painting.
